Corporate
The Wouter Nolet Foundation is controlled by a Board that guides the fulfilling of her mission.
Mission
Our mission is to strengthen the health care system in Sierra Leone.
Vision

The health care system in Sierra Leone may best be served by increasing the number of mid-level Physician Assistants (PA’s) in hospitals. Several NGO’s have implemented advanced training programs to educate PA’s in key medical specializations. By providing financial grants to these students, WNF enables them to focus on their studies and not being obliged to earn extra money in the evenings.
People in small, remote villages in Sierra Leone often lack access to health care, due to ignorance or all kind of barriers to overcome the threshold to go to a hospital. By creating a ‘mobile access point’ in which patients in time are identified and referred for follow-up to the hospital (Outreach interventions) WNF bridges the gap between the hospital and the communities.
If students sp[onsored by us, carry out the outreach interventions, we create a full scale win-win situation. The local community that we serve is linked up to the health care system, the hospital benefits of the intake of the patients and the students gain work experience. On top of that, rural health care will ultimately lead to greater prosperity for the communities and indirectly support their economies.
